I'm LA, just little ole me, a southern belle who has always dreamed of being a beach bum. And now I am! I live in beautiful Cape Canaveral, FL, just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. When I'm not lounging on the beach, I do graphic design and photography. Many of those photos you'll see on this blog. Check out the Photography and Graphics pages of this blog to see about pricing for each. So sit back, grab a tall cold glass of sweet tea and enjoy the view from the coast!

I love this! The pelicans sit on my parents dock in Astor all the time. Happy WW.

Thanks, Jennifer! Yeah, we have a TON of them around here, especially at the Port, where this was taken.
Thanks, Grottogirl! He is kind of cute. Man, though, I wouldn’t want to stick my finger in that hooked beak of theirs.
They swarm the fish cleaning station of the charter fishing boats, just begging for the scraps. Some of them perch on top, like this fellow, but most of them congregate below in the water (like, about 30+ of them.) Every now and then the fish cleaner will throw up a chunk. If the one on top doesn’t automatically catch it in his beak, then it falls down below for the others to fight over. It’s free, fun entertainment.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!!! Congrats on taking such a great shot. I love the other ones lined up there in the background too.

Thanks, Lifecruiser! They weren’t exactly ideal models as they were constantly moving. They are really quick for such big, bulky and not very graceful birds.

Fantastic photo capture!!! He looks like he’s inquisitive, too.
We don’t have Pelicans here on the west coat of Canada, so it’s a treat to see a photo like this!!!
Thanks for sharing such nice photos

Thanks, Bonny, for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. We have tons of pelicans here. Just last night I sat on the beach and watched several of them dive into the water to catch fish (in mid-flight)
