Dead fish on the beach (and boy, did it stink up the place!) uh, what exactly are those spikes for? Anyone know what kind of fish this is? First one to tell me from Entrecard gets 100 ECs

Oh, as an Environmental Science graduate, that makes me want to think of many things.

    Heh, Lala fish indeed! haha

I know, Uncle Che. They left that dead fish on the beach for over a week. I don’t understand why they didn’t remove it or burn it. Instead, the put a sign next to it stating it was there. Meanwhile, people were sunbathing nearby and kids were playing all around it. Seems like it would be an enviromental hazard (I have an even icker picture of it a week later)

Ugh…that’s so gross (the fish of course). Looks sort of like a balloon fish but I have no idea.

Love the hat and pictures (’cept the fish picture, ugh again)!

I know, it was gross. By the end of the week, I went back, took another photo of it, but couldn’t get near as close (because the smell alone was revolting)

You know I remember seeing dead fish and stuff along the beach when I lived in Florida as a child. Like that one, it seemed like they were there for a long time.

The Latin name for the fish is bloodyostumus deadasoma smellyius fisheya, or in English a real right ponger that’s choked on a bone. Love the hat.

Grace, welcome to FL(when you get here) Martyn, that’s funny! Thanks to both of you guys for stopping by! ;-)

Mr. J has told me the dead fish is a Mackerel. Really? And they have spikes? Yes, apparently they do! There you go, boys and girls.

What a perfect sunset shot. I can almost smell the Florida warm weather smell. And thanks so much for dropping by. Much appreciated.

I'm LA, just little ole me, a southern belle who has always dreamed of being a beach bum. And now I am! I live in beautiful Cape Canaveral, FL, just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. When I'm not lounging on the beach, I do graphic design and photography. Many of those photos you'll see on this blog. Check out the Photography and Graphics pages of this blog to see about pricing for each. So sit back, grab a tall cold glass of sweet tea and enjoy the view from the coast!
